Digital Learning
The Science 7 / 7A curriculum will promote 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and information literacy. The use of technology will be regularly incorporated into science instruction and student centered learning.
Science 7 / 7A students can expect to use digital resources on a regular basis and must arrive to class with a charged laptop. Assignments, instructions, digital materials, and the daily/weekly agenda will be posted to Google Classroom. Many assignments will be submitted digitally through Google Classroom. Applications and Internet resources will be used to enhance student engagement and comprehension of concepts in science. In addition, students will have access to the interactive electronic version of the textbook that includes the entire text, lesson extensions, videos and study aides. What is Google Classroom?Google Classroom (GC) is a secure digital teaching and learning platform. Students will have access to GC for all of their classes on their district issued device or any personal device that is logged into the student's district account. Your student will see something similar to the image below for all of his/her classes.
How can Parents view Google Classroom?Only teachers and students can interact on Google Classroom. However, parents and guardians can now receive email summaries of Google Classroom posts and the status of their student's assignments. Parents /guardians must receive and accept an invitation from the teacher to access this feature. Please email the teacher for an invitation.

What will you find on Google Classroom?
How does Google Classroom Work?GC integrates with Google Drive for assignment creation, distribution, collection, and grading. Students will submit assignments using Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides. In some cases students will receive and submit a PDF. Posted assignments are time/date stamped when submitted for grading. Teacher feedback and grades may be posted directly to Google Classroom. However, at this time, Google Classroom grades do not directly import into Skyward (the grade book). Parents/guardians and students should expect delays in the posting of graded GC assignments to Skyward.
What is Google Drive?Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service. Students and teachers store and share files in the cloud. Your student has a Google Account through the district. This account gives your student free access to Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail (your student's district email) and many add-ons and apps. These files are accessible using a district issued device or a personal device when logged into your student's district account. Look for the icon below on your student's computer or simply type Google Drive in the internet browser search bar. A student username and password are required.
